Cooperation with Lindenschule is bearing fruit - KieWis project has been awarded a prize

The motto of the Education Foundation of the Kreissparkasse for the education competition 2017 was "Fresh Wind with STEM". Through interactive projects such as the KieWis project, which has been running at Gehring and Lindeschule for more than 10 years, the children are offered fresh wind. This way STEM subjects become more fun and attractive. We are very proud that this project has been awarded a prize and that the years of work have been appreciated.

The Education Foundation of the Kreissparkasse Esslingen also handed over a prize money of € 3,000 for further funding of the project. Since 1994, the Foundation has been endeavoring to support projects such as these. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Lindenschule for the great cooperation and congratulate Mrs. Ehrmann and all other class teachers of the past years for the award.

KIEWIS - Kinder entdecken Wirtschaft (Children discover economy). If this term is a foreign word, here is a brief explanation. Elementary school students rarely encounter the operational reality. That is why companies and schools are working together to teach the children the technical and economic connections. The students can then combine these connections with classical school subjects. There are four events in total, two directly at Gehring and the other two at the Lindenschule. The children come up with their own designs of the project logo and a vehicle during this time. The vehicles are first made of Styrofoam and then rebuilt at Gehring on site as an aluminum model. Finally, everything is presented to parents and families at a project festival.
