In 1926, a workshop for engine repair was established in Naumburg an der Saale, without anyone at that time realizing the immense significance this work would hold for the future of the automotive industry.
Just eight years later, the world's first honing machine was introduced, causing a sensation even in the automotive and aviation sectors of that era. This marked the beginning of an exciting journey during which the Gehring Group established itself over the years as a pioneering player in honing, thanks to numerous innovative technologies.
Now, 97 years later, the Gehring Group shines as a globally operating engineering company with a primary focus on honing technologies and e-mobility. Its headquarters are currently located in Ostfildern. Especially in the ongoing transformation towards stator production and electromobility, their work plays a pivotal role, as their technologies significantly contribute to the advancement and increased efficiency of the automotive industry. This legacy reaches far into the future of mobility and underscores how far the vision of a small workshop in Naumburg has carried them.
