Gehring uses laser honing for many years in mass production of cylinder bores, in order to minimize friction and erosion. In addition to this application the laser beams is increasingly used for roughening of surfaces.

Gehring presented its new lifehone series at the leading trade fair of mechanical engineering in the Asian region, the China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT).
