The deephone series - formaly GNM - from the Gehring horizontal honing machine product line combines maximum efficiency with a balanced compact design. This allows for an efficient and economical honing of precision cylinders and large parts. The honing-control is easy to understand, and significantly boosts the user-friendliness of the machine. Once put into operation, the machine stands out for its high productivity and availability. The overall package is optimally rounded off by very short delivery times for machines and tooling.
Finishing with lowest piece costs
High performance drive systems and a high-precision feeding unit ensure a perfect configuration for the lowest piece costs in your production line. The spindle drive is powered by a high performance servomotor with a maximum output of max. 9 kW. A 3-step transmission unit with an RPM range of max. 450 1/min covers a large operating range. The stroke drive is powered by a servomotor and a high-performance chain. A position sensor along the entire stroke length always guarantees precise stroke reversal and maximum process capability.
Inner and outer honing on one machine
The deephone offers a completely new concept which makes it possible to hone inside and outside on one machine. Instead of external grinding you can achieve higher qualities and better tribological characteristics by honing. A larger spectrum of material can be processed. The machining of aluminium cylinders with thin walls for example is no longer a big challenge. If you take a look at the economics, the invest for a deephone lies under the one of a comparable grinding machine.
Easy operation thanks to the program assistant
The program assistant considerably eases machine operation for honing newcomers as well as experienced specialists. After entering the relevant parameters about the component, material and tool, the process and stock removal can be defined, and honing can be started once the tool has been positioned. The stroke position and all the other relevant parameters for machining the compontent are automatically calculated.
Optimally equipped for flexible production right from the start
Optional accessories for customised configurations
Finishing of larger diameter parts.
The new GNM-V from the deephone machine series is specifically designed for larger diameters. The distinguishing advantage of this machines lays in its optimal layout. Features such as a small footprint, a clearly laid out work space and ample space for loading of heavy parts make it ideal for larger diameter scenarios. This machine is designed for the finishing of parts with diameters between 40-1000 mm, and with stroke lengths up to 1,300 mm. Typical part applications for this machine include wind turbine transmissions or large cylinder liners.
Loading and delivery
Loading is carried out by an overhead crane and is facilitated by a telescopic guide on the sliding doors. The sliding table allows for the exact placement of the part under the spindle and there is also the option to have an optional encoder as a position verification system. The clamping of the part can be done with the T-slot table by means of clamping claws or a special fixture.
Configuration can be chosen as needed. Both EMZ-F and HAZ feeding systems or combination units are available with this machine. A rotary configuration with linear adapter is also possible.
