The modern powertrainhone machine system can be used for all established honing processes. In addition to conventional honing operations, innovative processes such as formhoning can also be used. The high movement and cutting speeds, together with optimized processes, significantly increase productivity.
Whether as a stand-alone machine or an interlinked production line, the modular concept provides maximum flexibility in the configuration of modern manufacturing solutions and boasts an optimized footprint. Standard functional assemblies combined with customer-specific solutions produce optimal results. The compact PT spindle unit with a powerful stroke drive and spindle drive combines efficiency and quality. It covers a wide range of possible applications in a diameter range from 68 to 105 mm.
The compact honing unit with powerful stroke and efficient direct spindle drive stands for high level flexibility. The different sizes of the models serve a broad spectrum of applications with diameters ranging from 68 to 105 mm. The integrated electromechanical delivery unit with force measuring (EMZ-F) ensures to achieve the desired results with high process reliability.
The fast and efficient tool changing system with extremely short tool changing times, provides you with the best solution for different part types and in case of wear- or process-related changes.
Typical areas of applications are all types of car crankcases - which allows for optimal processing of inline blocks, V-blocks and, last but not least, main bearing bores.

The large PT module is designed for machining series blocks and provides space for up to four spindle units. The modular design allows for the corresponding scalability depending on production capacity, while the attached control cabinet means that the machine can be set up quickly and correctly. Plug connections are used instead of the conventional wiring. The standard assemblies used are easily accessible and the machine is designed to be simple to maintain.

The LSR (Large Scale Reaming) honing unit of the powertrainhone series can be used as a modular machine or as an integrated solution in a transfer line. The horizontal honing unit ensures precise and effective machining of crank bores in engine blocks. Driven by a servo motor and equipped with an electro-mechanical feeding system, LSR achieves optimized machining results.
The machining of the crank bore improves the geometrical and positional accuracy. The ream honing process used is characterized by maintaining close tolerances and long tool life. This results in high process availability with low tooling costs. The ream honing is a contribution to the future sustainability of the combustion engine.
The LSR module can alternatively be equipped with one or two honing units and optionally supplemented by an automatic tool changer. In combination with the HSK connection, quick tool changes can be assured. Overall, this machine offers quality at the highest level.
